Disadvantages of Our Distance Education System
We recommend that prospective students become familiar with our Distance Education (DE) System and make their choice after carefully considering its advantages and disadvantages. Distance education requires self-motivation and individual effort. Receiving instruction in a conventional classroom setting is the method most students are accustomed to. In distance education, before asking a question, students are expected to have studied the relevant subjects and identified what they do not understand and why. Student questions are generally answered within an average of two business days.
Throughout this educational process, through which students gain professional qualifications, they are expected to regularly follow our electronic platforms and discussion forums. For this purpose, it is sufficient to access our platforms at least twice a week, at times convenient to the student, and review the necessary materials and announcements. Students must also have access to an internet-connected computer that meets at least the specifications stated above in the Technical Requirements section. For candidates who consider these requirements and conditions suitable, our distance education system can ultimately turn what may initially appear to be a disadvantage into an advantage.
Associate degree education provides additional knowledge and skills beyond those acquired in high school, enabling students to gain a new profession. It also provides the opportunity to take the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), continue into four-year undergraduate programs, and have eligible credits recognized where applicable. Therefore, students should keep in mind that the programs include mathematics and technical subjects at a more advanced level than those studied in high school.
The distance education system may be challenging for individuals who have taken a long break from education or who are unable to manage their time effectively and devote sufficient time to their studies. Each semester, an average of 300 students are dismissed from our Vocational School, particularly those who entered through the vocational transition without examination system but did not maintain sufficient commitment to their studies. The maximum period of study is four years.
